Jane McCaulley | Joplin MO

My artwork is a culmination of my lifelong love of art, and my career teaching art to children for 35 years. I have been greatly influenced by my former young students and the elegant simplicity of their art. I try to attain the look of ease and effortlessness they so easily achieve.

I have been working with glass for about 15 years. I do mosaics and fused glass and often combine the two methods. Much of my art deals with nature and the beauty of God’s creation. I am particularly fond of leaves and trees. I believe my ability to work and create with glass is a gift from God. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17)

Although I am retired from teaching in public schools, I still teach classes for children and adults here at Local Color, at Spiva Art Center in Joplin, ArtCentral in Carthage, and my home studio.
