Kim Kissel | Joplin MO
Early on I received a degree in Fine Art and to add to that I always found my way to all the museums available to me. I grew my Art library and joined numerous competitives, won awards and was asked to be a Judge for local shows. As my experience grew I was honored to have solo shows at Universities and various Galleries.
A career in Art can take you many places all of which spark new friendships and opportunities. Local and regional venues from Art walks to Competitions and individual shows have helped to create a path towards my career. Commissions have been a part of my work, many for Portraits in oil or graphite and also teaching from my studio with students of all ages and adults, some with experience and others just wanting to find out about Art.
It’s compelling to think about putting something on canvas that you share with the world, that is completely honest and heartfelt, it is also completely rewarding and full of surprises that sometimes I understand only later, it brings a kind of refreshment.
During my career as an Artist these are some of the places my work has been Gallery Represented: Kansas City MO, Tulsa OK, Springfield MO, Little Rock AR, Carthage MO, and Joplin MO.
My work hangs in the homes and business of Art enthusiasts from Brazil, Germany, Kuwait, California, Iowa, Delaware, Maryland, Maine, Kansas City, Joplin, Carthage, New York…Mars (just kidding, maybe someday :)
